UPS Freight, Very Poor Service - Freight service

We made arrangements through FreightQuote to ship 3 welders through UPS Freight . FreightQuote was great and scheduled for us to take our welders to the dock in Farmington, NM for shipment on a certain day and between the hours of noon to 5pm. The morning we were to deliver the welders to the dock, I called the 800 number for UPS Freight (888-682-4652) to make sure everything was set. I was told that we could actually deliver the welders anytime between 8 and 5. We stayed on the original schedule and arrived at the dock at 2pm. That is where the problem started. The very rude female at the business advised us there was no one available to receive our shipment and even said it was not her problem.

I called the toll free number and was told there was nothing they could do either and advised Farmington was not a "manned " center and we needed an appointment to drop off. I asked to talk to a supervisor and was transferred to the Albuquerque dispatch center. Just as bad, Guy Stalcup said it was our problem and there was nothing he could do. I asked if he would schedule the welders to be picked up from our residence the following morning and he said, for a fee. I asked for his supervisors name and was told, his supervisor was sleeping in a motel in Colorado and he would tell me the same thing. Stalcup agreed to pick up the welders from our residence the following morning. I asked what time and he said, the truck leaves at 8am and he will come to your house. 10 am I called the 800 number to check on the truck and was told it would be there at 11:30, at 2:30 I called the 800 number again and told the truck would be there before the end of the day. I asked to be transferred to the dispatch center and again spoke with Stalcup. He said it would be several more hours. I told him that my husband had to leave for work and I was out of town. I asked him why he told me 8am and he said that he said, the truck left at 8am and if it had room they would stop and get our welders; otherwise they would pick them up on their way back from the Durango. I told him that is not what he told me and to cancel the entire load.

I called FreightQuote and explained, within 30 minutes she had our welders booked on Yellow Freight (who does have a manned center). This morning we delivered the welders to Yellow Freight and their are off. CAUTION, be aware of booking anything with UPS Freight. They (along with UPS) has lost our business.
